Jerusalem’s Old City is, by far, one of the most colorful, longed-for, and holy places in the world. Its streets have been trodden by Israelites, Jews, Romans, Christians, Crusaders, Caliphs, and Muslims. It has been toured and rejoiced by pilgrims and men of science alike. Residing at the Western edge of the Judean Desert, Jerusalem is hardly known for its winters.
